'I had to leave Warsaw after the Warsaw Uprising but on 18 January 1945 I was already back. In the Town Council I was offered certain ruins at 119 Marszalkowska Street. And although there was neither electricity nor running water nor gas in the city, Cafe Fogg opened its door on 3 March 1945.
The most important song of that time was the 'Song about my Warsaw' which had been given to me to sing by the author himself ' Albert Harris. It's hard to imagine today the emotions the song aroused'.

Mieczysław Fogg (1977)

Carbide lamps, piano Sommerfeld brought from home. Greatgrandmother Irene together with her sister Henryka reigned in the kitchen. Tables, chairs, plates, cups and silverware were obtained quite by miracle. And a concert every single night. Returns, and great emotions. People were saying: 'we are alive and so is our city' The most sophisticated place in Warsaw. A bit of its history.

After sixty years since Cafe Fogg at 119 Marszalkowska Street closed down we are back again, in our City.

Michał Fogg (2007)
